SPECIAL CASES WHERE ITR FILING IS MANDATORY

Special Cases Where ITR Filing is Mandatory :

CASE NO. 1: A person deposits a total amount exceeding 1 crore rupees in one or more current account maintained with any bank during relevant previous year

CASE NO. 2: A person incurs total expenses exceeding 2 lakh rupees for travel to a foreign country, either for self or any other person during relevant previous year

CASE NO.3: A person incurs total expenses exceeding 1 lakh rupees for payment of electricity bill during relevant previous year

ITR Filing

The 3 cases discussed till now are not applicable to a company or a firm and are applicable to those persons who are not required to furnish their ITR otherwise.

CASE NO.4: For businesses- Where total sales, turnover or gross business receipt exceeds 60 lakh rupees during relevant previous year

CASE NO.5: For professionals- Where gross professional receipt exceeds 10 lakh rupees during relevant previous year

CASE NO.6: For resident individual (below 60 years of age)- Where total tax deducted and collected exceeds 25,000 rupees during relevant previous year

CASE NO.7: For resident individual (60 years or more age)- Where total tax deducted and collected exceeds 50,000 rupees during relevant previous year
